Welcome to Cars, Travel, Tech

Welcome to Cars, Travel, Tech. An independent online magazine that’s trying to do things a bit differently. The site’s foundation is a small group of professional writers, journalists, and enthusiasts who are a bit jaded with the current state of the industry.

So if you’re as sick of overt sponsorship, listicles, and rehashed AI hallucinations ,this might be the place for you. If you miss the days when you could pick up a magazine and read something genuinely entertaining, stick around. We want you here.

Come and be Part of Something Special

We’re only in the early stages here, but there’s a fairly ambitious long-term goal for Cars, Travel, Tech. We’re trying to build more than a website, a news outlet, a YouTube, or a magazine. Instead, we want to cultivate a unique, close-knit, community.

We want to talk with you, we want you to talk to each other, we want two random people sitting at a bar to talk about this site and how much they love being part of it. Building this will take time, but it will be worth it long-term.

Editorial Policy

Cars, Travel, Tech started because its founders were fed up of writing SEO-driven nonsense for large, profit-centric corporations. We wanted to get back to basics, write the stuff that we want to read, and hope that you all enjoy reading it too.

As a result, you can expect impartial, evidence-backed takes aimed at entertaining and informing our reader base. We don’t host sponsored content, and companies don’t pay us for our articles.

Honesty is the best policy, so here is how we’re handling some of the industry’s ethical grey areas.

Sponsored Travel/Accommodation/Product Samples

Occasionally, our writers will accept subsidized travel and/or accommodation when covering an event, but no money changes hands and this does not effect coverage. If something like travel is provided for a piece, it will be clearly disclosed in the article itself.

It’s something quite common in the industry, and unfortunately it’s a bit of a necessity. There’s no way we can afford to fly writers out for things ourselves, so it’s a case of accepting free travel or simply not covering things like product launches, major trade shows, and first drives.

With product reviews, things are slightly different. Writers aren’t handed a free phone or laptop for review purposes. That stuff tends to come with a return label, and the companies do usually want their tech back. Unsurprisingly, the test vehicles our writers receive go back after a week or so. Again, expect transparency when this happens.

AI Policy

All of the words you’re reading on this site are written by humans who are passionate about their craft. The only exception is if the story is based on an AI model, and that AI’s output is clearly quoted as an example.
